Most of us would agree that work/family balance is more of a concern
with employees than ever. Employees are seeking out companies that
take their personal lives into account. For companies that create
programs or policies in support of balance, the rewards are tangible.
Studies show that employees are more productive and satisfied when
they believe that their employer values their non-work time.
Consider offering employees 5 - 10 days they can take off to deal
with personal matters such as sick children, family emergencies
or just their own mental health and wellbeing. Companies that have
done so not only find that employees tend not to abuse the privilege
but that they return to work renewed and re-energized. Lost time
at work is more than made up for by improved productivity and increased
employee retention.
